Meet Pablo
Pablo is a grey American Shorthair with light green eyes. He likes eating, catnip, and eating again. His hobbies are staring at the food cupboard and sitting on whatever you're reading.
Pablo's care sheet
- Only about half to two-thirds of cats react to catnip. It's inherited, so some cats just don't care.
- A catnip high lasts around 10 minutes. After that most cats ignore it for a while before it works again.
- Kittens usually don't react to catnip until they're a few months old.
- Treats should be a small part of what a cat eats: about a tenth of the day's calories at most.
- Plain cooked chicken is fine. Onion and garlic aren't: they're toxic to cats, and they're in most seasoned chicken.
- Most adult cats can't digest milk well. Water is the drink.
- American Shorthairs come from the working cats that kept mice off ships and farms. Pablo has retired from all work.
